How To: Unzip Zipped Files Using Smart/Android/Mobile Phones


Unzipping zipped up files from your mobile phone is no longer a big problem these days. Want to unzip your WordPress, Blogger templates, or any other zipped up file?, With the help of a mere Application, you can successfully unzip any zipped file. I will show you with the help of images how to use “ES File Explorer”, an Android App to unzip zipped up files.

This vital and multipurpose Mobile App can be downloaded from Google PlayStore. Its a multipurpose Application in the sense that it carry out a lot of tasks, unexpected of a mere mobile App. If you don’t have it on your Android phone, you’ve really been missing a lot. 

Now, visit PlayStore and using the search box, insert the query “ES File Explorer” and search. From the search result provided, download the App to your phone. If you already have ES File Explorer installed in your phone, update it from the same PlayStore to get the latest version of it. If you’ve now got the App installed in your phone, come along, lets go to the crux of the article. 

How To Unzip Zipped Files on Mobile Phone Using ES File Explorer

1) Download your zip file of choice into the phone.

2) Open your ES File Explorer and tap on the “Compressed” section. This “Compressed” section will show you in ascending order, all the zipped files that come into your phone, either downloaded, shared, created etc… Now, at the top will be your newly downloaded zip file as shown in the below image.

3) Long-tap or Tap-Hold that particular zip file to mark it, then click on the “Extract to”

4) As illustrated in the below image, click on the “Ok” button to complete the extraction process. You’re done.  

Anytime you wish to share or upload the file, select the ES File Explorer option, unless you won’t be able to see file you unzipped. 

Even if its a template that you unzipped using ES File Explorer, select the ES File Explore option when uploading it, look for “Download” and then the file’s name to upload it.
